YMCA and TAM Join Hands in the Walk to End Hunger

Our neighborhood YMCAs and Toledo Area Ministries have teamed together to sponsor the first annual Walk to End Hunger on Saturday, September 25 from 6-8pm. This special event is to raise awareness of the great need of quality food for people in our communities. The current state of the economy has made it hard on many people, and when times get rough, food pantries are where many people turn. However, the food pantries have been facing a substantial decrease in donations and we are hopeful that this event will bring in the funds needed to continue in providing food for all our community members who need assistance. All proceeds benefit the pantry(s) in your local YMCA area. That means what is made in West Toledo stays in West Toledo and so on. So come walk for a cause with your fellow community members at your local YMCA here in Toledo. Each individual YMCA is meeting in their own designated spot, so contact your closest Y to get details on their specific location.

Registration will be done through Toledo Area Ministries. Receive a FREE T-Shirt for early registration by 4pm September 17th. Requested registration/donation fee is $25.

These are the YMCAs that will be participating in the event: South YMCA at the Morse Center, Fort Meigs, Francis Family, West Toledo, Eastern Community, Summit and Wolf Creek. For more details contact your local YMCA or Toledo Area Ministries at 419 242 7401. You can see a map of your neighborhood YMCA here in Toledo by going to http://www.ymcatoledo.org/branches.asp.
