During the Summer of 2010 the Fostoria City School District became an Ohio Benefit Bank site. On June 16, 2010 Amanda Bryant became the OBB Counselor for Longfellow Elementary School in Fostoria Ohio. Amanda is the Community Service Provider.
On Saturday September 25, 2010 Longfellow Elementary School held their annual Health and Safety Fair. Amanda ceased the opportunity with the approval of Principal Melissa Depinet to have a booth at the fair to introduce to the parents of Longfellow the Ohio Benefit Bank and its services.
During the fair we met and spoke with 42 parents and completed 4 quick checks. We also meet with 8 families that had used the OBB to file their Federal, and State taxes. During our conversation with the parents we found that they all had to travel to another county to meet with a OBB Tax Counselor. Over the next few months Amanda will be working with Kylee (OBB Community Trainer) to schedule and plan a tax clinic for parents and the Fostoria community at the Longfellow Elementary School.
